Warm Winter Nights

Negresco

The newly wed Aggio and Katie opened a new Jazz Club called Negresco. Inspired in the well known Bar and Restaurant with the same name in Manchester, they managed to recreate the cozy and intimate ambiance you can experience in RL, with a remarkable attention to details, from the table lamps to the pictures on the walls.

The deco in red and black, the comfortable couches in shadowed corners inviting to an intimate chat, the background jazz music and the inviting dance floor are complemented by an outside esplanade where you can watch the sunset in a good company.

Drop bye and take a look for yourself. The dress code is formal and the crew is there to welcome you and make your visit even more pleasant.

New home

A bit tired of having a lot of people putting their noses to my front door (and zooming in when I didn’t answer) I finally decided to take my home up to the sky.

The house was taken away from the beach and replaced by a nice waterfall that my good friend June Jurak sent me as a gift and a big tree.

After a whole morning TPing all over SL I could finally find a house that suited me, lovely, low prim and not expensive hehehe.

Me and Max have been decorating it and it was finished a few days ago. I love details so I’m a bit of a prim eater but this time I behaved (cough cough) and managed to leave about 250 prims free – ok, ok not much if you consider that I own a 6140sqm land. But previously I had 100 free so I DID behave hehehe

One of the things I like about the house are the doors. The script sends me an e-mail whenever someone not in the allow list tries to open the doors.

Who on earth wants to get into my bedroom at 3:00 AM???? I’m not there guys! If you want to use it just ask… the furniture is copy so I can place it wherever you want

Girls with toys

What do girls do on a Sunday night when all the guys you were supposed to be dating just don’t show up or go to bed early?

Do you log off and go to bed earlier? Do you crash a party? Do you sit down alone at home just waiting?

No, no nothing of the kind!

Just grab a couple of tricycles (thanks Bankinha) and race around an Indian camp (siss loved the new deco at your beach). Well if you manage to get the tricycles. Cause when you rezz them they just go away on their own and you have to race after them. Better than go to the gym I must say *winks

It was quite a blast racing around with siss, Maggie and Bankinha. What better way to end a lousy weekend than with a laugh?

Thank you ladies. Love you all.

(and now off to bed that work is knocking at the door)

Phoenix Reflective

Saturday and Sunday morning is always when I take some time to do a little exploring. Not many friends online (meaning no IM hell), lag is low and I can take my time tping from SIM to SIM.

Today I was taking some pictures at Aggio and Katie’s new jazz club, the Negresco (but this will go on another post) and when I finished decided to open the map and see what was around. Not very far were a group of 5 or 6 sims all with Phoenix in their name.

The Phoenix Reflective looked like a big forest on the map so I just clicked there and – wow – I found myself in a skyplatform, almost 600 meters high.

Waited a bit for things to rezz and I was surprised by several floors of what looked to me like the Suspended Gardens of Babylon.

The place is guarded at the entrance by two water serpents, a golden platform takes you to this gorgeous club where a horse stands by a mic near the piano. I thought he needed someone to play along with this singing, but he kept sooo quiet hehe.

Anyways, tried to find the way up to the other levels but couldn’t find the Teleporter. So I just zoomed up and around. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to ground level cause RL interfered (don’t you just hate that?!), but managed to take some nice (cough cough) pictures of the Suspended Gardens

Vampires?

Transilvanya. A full moon shines against a starless sky. In the distance you can see a graveyard.
Looking around, lots of dark stores with even darkers outfits. The streets are empty. An open sewer, a ladder leading to the tunels. Too affraid to explore it, we move on.
We end at a square, some people dancing.
You can see some really scary creatures. Others look like normal people, but don’t let that mislead you. Underneath that innocent look hids a mind thirsty for blood…

… or is it pizza and Beer?

May the force be with you

With Max not being online I was kinda bored and decided to do some work for a change. There are exhibitions to prepare, concerts to organize and my good old inventory that is becoming a mess again.
Setting aside the inventory organization I decided to see some galleries and at the same time talked to my friend Ky because of a concert we are organizing and he invited me to drop by.
He was teaching Sun to fight with a lightsaber and we started talking about Star Wars. One thing leads to another and after we put the “Observer” flip title and me changing clothes – I like to dress according with the themes of the Islands – we went to Skylark.
I had never been to a Star Wars RP SIM and my jaw just dropped.
It looked like I had entered some theatre screen, stepping inside the movie. The landscaping, the buildings, the vehicles were amazingly detailed and realistic.
We were even addressed by a Prize Hunter who warned us about the dangers around (I think she was herself dangerous, but thanks the Goddess for that flip title).
After having been swallowed by a desert worm, run over by some kind of floating space vehicle and an Imperial Guard passed by us about a dozen times with a suspicious look, we just stood there speaking of everything and nothing, surrounded by sand sharing ideas about books, phantasy realms and so many other subjects that came up.
A wonderful night in the company of friends and not even the fact we were standing there for hours got me tired.
As usual here are some pictures of the place and some more are at MyFlickr.

Oh and you might be asking about the work to be done… well tomorrow is another day *winks

Iron Man in Second Life

Paramount Pictures International (PPI) and Marvel Studios announced a competition inviting residents of Second Life to create Iron Man fan art for the chance to win a top prize of L$100,000 (US $400).

My good friend Halden Beaumont already produced a breathtaking video. Just so hope he can win that prize. He really has been developping a great work in Machinima and he deserves to have is work recognised not only by words.

I leave you here the YouTube version but you can see the high resolution here
